Dental and Decon Room Worktops

We supplied and installed HIMACS Alpine White solid surface worktops throughout this dental practice in Preston, covering three surgeries and the decontamination room.

Each worktop incorporates a HIMACS CS453 undermounted sink in Alpine White, specified without an overflow and seamlessly bonded to the surface. Overflows are notoriously difficult to clean and are a known trap for biofilm, so removing them takes out a hidden contamination risk altogether. The joint between bowl and worktop is invisible and completely watertight, leaving nothing for debris to collect in.

The same principle carries up the wall. Rather than a separate upstand sealed with silicone, we formed a coved upstand with a curved radius running seamlessly out of the worktop — no gaps, no mastic joint, no crevice to harbour bacteria. The result is a continuous, non-porous run of surface that can be wiped down and disinfected in a single pass, which is exactly what a decontamination room and busy surgeries need.
